A partner greenhouse in the United States runs the same software, and its growers read the dashboard in Fahrenheit. Setup now receives the site’s display unit, "C" or "F". The frost alert’s threshold stays 2.0 °C everywhere, and the calibration is still measured in °C. The readers must not change.
Today the unit is ignored and the partner’s dashboard shows Celsius. Converting inside a reader would make the dashboard learn about units, and the next display format would mean editing it again.
Reproduce
Probe reads 1.0, calibration 0.8, units "F": the dashboard should show bench 3: 35.2°F; today it shows bench 3: 1.8°C. The frost alert should still say frost alert: 1.8°C.
Acceptance criteria
- With units "F", the dashboard shows the calibrated reading converted to Fahrenheit, with the unit F.
- The calibration is applied in Celsius, before converting.
- The frost alert reads Celsius at every site, so it still pages below 2.0 °C.
- With units "C", nothing changes; an offline probe still reaches both readers.
- Neither reader changes.
Notes
- Each case scripts the probe, calls setup with a calibration and a unit, then reads in order; the results print joined by “ | ”.
- °F = °C × 9 / 5 + 32. Readings print with one decimal.
